Learning to use scissors

The opening and closing motion of opening and closing scissors helps children to develop the small muscles in their hand otherwise known as fine motor skills. These muscles are crucial in a child’s development to be able to hold crayons, pencils and manipulate objects. Cutting with scissors also helps to develop children’s hand eye coordination as they hold the paper with one hand and cut with the other while tracking the movement with their eyes.
