About Us

Our aim

At Daisy Chain Nursery the children are at the forefront of everything that we do.

– We aim to create an environment where all children and families are supported and their similarities and differences are celebrated.

– We believe all children should have a safe and secure learning environment where they can be loved and nurtured by familiar people who are able to support their emotional well being.

– We aim to offer access to an environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace according to their individual needs and interests.

– We aim to work alongside families as core educators ensuring the best care and support is available for their children.

Our Team

The team at Daisy Chain is very diverse with a mixture of experience levels, ages and personalities. They are friendly and outgoing and are always willing to help with anything they can or point you in the right direction. All of our team are fully dedicated to giving the best care and attention to the children whilst pushing the boundaries of expectation to ensure they are steadily working towards their early learning goals and providing them with the best possible base for the future. We provide an environment of continuous learning where training is regularly updated and refreshed to ensure the best possible knowledge for all of our staff members. We encourage our team to reach for their highest goals supporting many of them through higher education and beyond.

Our Children

All children are welcome at Daisy Chain and differences are supported and celebrated by all. We encourage all of our children to learn about each other and tell others about themselves to promote equality and diversity within the community. The children are supported in understanding basic rules and boundaries in a friendly helpful manner and are encouraged to share their skills and knowledge with others. The children and families at Daisy Chain often start as strangers and leave as friends.

Our Nursery

At Daisy Chain we have 4 rooms and separate the children according to their age and their abilities. We have a small room offering specialist provision for children with special educational needs or children who need a little bit of extra support in being away from their families. We have a separate room for babies under 2 years which has its own milk kitchen and nappy change area. We have a large outdoor field and also 2 internal gardens for the children to use. We offer a wide range of resources and activities according to the children’s interests and learning needs. We make each day a fun experience for all children and the nursery is all based on one level so that children of all abilities are able to join in the fun. Outdoor play is an important part of what we offer at Daisy Chain and we provide stimulating and exciting play opportunities outside in all seasons regardless of the weather. Full wet suits are provided for all children.

We have an on site cook who makes healthy meals from a varied menu daily which are fully inclusive for all children. We provide formula milk for babies under 12 months and nappies and wipes are provided for all. We welcome children on 2, 3 and 4 year old funding and we are also running 30 hours for eligible 3 and 4 year olds and we accept payments from Tax Free Childcare and various childcare voucher schemes. Our Partners

We work closely with the local children’s center who come to the site and support the children in preparing healthy snacks and talk to them about staying safe at home. We take regular trips to the library, the local shops and parks to support the children in learning about literacy, stranger danger, road safety and to help them gain a sense of community. Spanish Pete attends the nursery every other week to help teach the children Spanish and we also have Fran from Mini Melodies who attends weekly to help the children learn through music and song. We work with health visitors and other professionals to ensure the children are getting the most out of their learning and we create plans together to ensure we are supporting them effectively. Our most important partners are the parents and carers of our children. We work closely with our families, offering help and support and sometimes just and ear to listen. We gain vital information from them that helps us in getting to know the children as much as possible and enables us to further their learning and development at nursery inline with what they are doing at home.
